New Year's Eve Recipes and Ideas

It’s almost New Year's Eve! This is a fun night to come up with a few unique ideas and recipes to share with those you have chosen to ring in the New Year with.

If you’re like me, you have a hard time deciding what to serve. You walk the line between tasty and creative, but also easy and practical.

And when it comes to decorating, how do you know how much is too much, and how much is just right? You want the party to be fun without breaking the bank.

Here are some fun ideas for recipes and decorating ideas that are sure to make your party a hit and ring the New Year in the right way!

Best New Year’s Eve Recipes


Dips are always a hit! They are easy to prepare generally, and they are not complicated to serve. Plus, they are easy to maintain. Just ensure there are enough chips, crackers, or veggies, whatever you choose to serve them with.

Gorgonzola Spinach Artichoke Dip. One of our favorite recipes is a Spinach Artichoke Dip. While there are MANY variations, this is a great recipe that is easy to follow. The Gorgonzola adds a really nice flavor to the dip. Serve with some crispy crackers, chips, or cut up veggies.

A unique dip with incredible flavors is this crab rangoon dip. This creamy dip will have everyone coming back for more.

For a delicious dip, check out this Gouda and Beer Dip. Serving it in a bread bowl with sliced apples on the side will make this dip the most popular dish on the table.

If you want something with a little more kick to it, try this Buffalo Chicken Dip. The blend of spicy and creamy with the blue cheese is fantastic.

If you want something that looks nice, but is SUPER easy to make, try these Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms. They only take about 30 minutes to make, but they are so tasty they might be gone in less time!

Meatballs are a staple on New Years, for some reason. Why not switch it up with this fun recipe? These tasty meatballs are served on a lemongrass stick!

A meat and cheese board is perfect for any party. Go to the local supermarket and choose a variety of soft and hard cheeses, as well as a few cured meats. Get a nice loaf of bread, slice and toast it for a good base. For a nice touch, add roasted garlic.


For a fun treat that everyone at the party will love, try these Champagne Jelly Flutes. Champagne is always used to celebrate the ball drop, put a unique twist on it and serve these instead!

New Years Eve Decorations

When it comes to decorating for your party, there are countless things to do. The critical thing to remember is that your guests came to celebrate with you! Don’t stress yourself out trying to decorate so much that you forget to enjoy the party.

A surefire way to get everyone having some fun is a photo booth or wall. Head to a Dollar Tree or other discount store for a solid colored tablecloth or two and props. You can get a basketful for $10-$15! Look for glasses, hats, boas, tiaras, and anything else you can put around your face.

Most party stores, and even many large grocery stores, will carry a collection of New Years themed hats and tiaras. Many will come in a set with blow horns, poppers, or leis. These classic additions will make any party feel like a fantastic New Years Party. It won’t matter if you decorate anything else!

If you want to add a special touch, look for Mylar balloons in the numbers 2019. It will be an excellent backdrop for photos taken during the night.

The most important thing to remember is that it’s a party! Don’t stress too much about having the perfect decoration or food. Enjoy your friends and family and celebrate the end of a great year and the upcoming year ahead.
