We will provide all the supplies from the cookies to the icing to the sprinkles, and of course the Christmas cheer! We hope to see you there.
This long tradition put on by the Chamber of Commerce has been going on for over 20 years. Come out at 6:30 to witness the incredible combination of lights, sounds, and spirit in the parade through historic Main Street. You will see bands, floats, animals, and a variety of other entries marching down the beautifully illuminated street. Get there early and find a free spot in your folding chair on Main Street between Washington and Eddison.
Afterglow happens between 3:00 and 9:00pm in the Marktplatz on Main. This event is free to the public and will offer food, wine, shopping, and family entertainment lit with Christmas lights.
Between 8:00 and 10:00pm your kiddos can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and get a picture with them in their sleigh. Look for them in Marktplatz near Vereins Kirche. If you want more activities for kids, check out Oktoberfest Halle!
Come to the Pioneer Museum with your stocking for a fun and free event! Children 10 and under can hang their stocking on the fireplace (don’t worry if you forget one, the museum has some there!). After the stockings are hung by the chimney with care, everyone will go to the historic sanctuary for a Christmas story, songs, and crafts. Perhaps St. Nicholas will be there!
While the children are busy with their Christmas activities, Santa and his elves will be busy filling the stockings the German way, with nuts, fruit, and candy. There will be light refreshments served, as well. You won’t want to miss this fun event!
If you are looking for a fancy night on the town, the annual Tannenbaum ball is perfect. Between a catered dinner, wine, beer, and spirits, a silent and live auction, and a live band, you are sure to have the best night of the season. The ball will take place at St. Mary’s Holy Family Center. Call the museum office for tickets.
What better way to prepare for Christmas than with Christmas songs? What better way to hear those songs than from a signing tree?!? Or rather, a choir that is standing on a giant Christmas tree that is lit. Come out for a truly spectacular event. Head over to the Pioneer Museum Saturday or Sunday evening.
Bethany Lutheran Church puts on this unique and educational event every year. You will get to see live presentations of nine different stories about Jesus as you drive along a lighted trail. There will be actors, animals, and music. If you don’t want to drive through, there is a complimentary hayride. The line for cars norms north of the church on Schubert St and turns south into the entrance on Adams St.
Join in on this incredible tradition started by President and Mrs. Johnson 49 years ago! There will be carolers, a live nativity scene, and a Santa Claus leading up to the big event. Then, you absolutely don’t want to miss the tree lighting!
If you are looking for some dancing to get into the Christmas spirit, put on your dancing shoes and waltz over to Luckenbach for a fantastic evening. Gary P. Nunn will be playing, and dancing is open for all. Tickets start at $20.00 and go up to $35.00. You know what they say, “Let’s go to Luckenbach, Texas…”
The Beckers started this fun tradition entertaining friends and family at the winery the day after Christmas. There were snacks, music, and a reading of “A Christmas Carol.” This has since become an annual tradition for the whole community. Come celebrate this fun British Holiday at Becker.
However and wherever you decide to celebrate this Christmas season, we hope it is a fantastic time! We definitely hope to see you at Sweetbriar Rose Thursday through Sunday! There is no shortage of Fredericksburg, TX Christmas events to keep you busy!
